February is a short and sweet month here at Rye Country Day! It is a month that the classrooms really get a chance to focus on kindness and friendships!
The children are looking forward to their Valentine exchanges mid month. This means that they will be making and writing out special Valentine cards for each of their friends, as well as decorating boxes or bags to use as their own mailboxes. Please check your child's calendar for exact dates and details for these celebrations!
Thank you to all of the families that were able to make it to our Parent/ Teacher conferences in January. It is so important to get face-to-face time with you! We are all working together to ensure your children get the very best early childhood education. You are such an influential piece of that! We love getting to celebrate your children!
Germs are everywhere! Teachers are doing their best to keep toys, furniture, doorknobs, etc...sanitized. They are also encouraging hand washing throughout the day. Thank you for letting us know when your child is ill and what their symptoms are. It helps us keep on top of the illnesses circulating in the school. Our health policy can be found in our school handbook (found on our home page). To quote a brilliant man, Daniel Tiger,..."When you're sick, rest is best, rest is best!"
Again, we appreciate you sending in labeled snow gear and extra mittens for the wet, snowy playground! We have some "cool" new sleds that are getting lots of use!
Registration information has gone home for next year. Spaces are filling quickly, so time is of the essence! If you have any questions, please call the office. Ann will be happy to help!
Winter Break is being held February 26th- March 2nd. RCD will be closed during that week.
Thank you, and Happy February!
